Using nature hashtags on different social platforms – Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter
Now we mentioned earlier that each social network is different and we thought we’d put a bit more detail on that for you below:
The original hashtaggers! Twitter is where the hashtag was born and was created by the original users of the platform like a version of Twitter Search, to tie different topics together. Nowadays it still serves that purpose but also helps to show ‘trends’ when things get popular.
Suggestion: Use two, well-researched hashtags
Just like Twitter, Facebook uses hashtags to bring conversations together in the central stream. That said, because most Facebook users are private or on limited settings, the hashtags aren’t searchable!
What does that mean? Even Facebook itself has said that hashtags are better off being used by brands, rather than individuals like you and me.
Suggestion: Don’t use hashtags on Facebook as an individual, only as a business

LinkedIn’s use of hashtags is a little different in that they actually recommend the right hashtags for you – neat huh? When you create a new post it gives you some suggestions on hashtags which, like Instagram or Facebook, ties conversations together.
Suggestion: Use maximum four of the recommended hashtags
So, where do we start with IG? Hashtags have become particularly popular on Instagram since in the original days of the platform they really helped users ‘go viral’. Their effectiveness isn’t the same today but they are still great for increasing the reach on your feed posts and IG Stories.
For IG Feed Posts you can use up to 30 hashtags but current guidance suggests that about 10 is the sweet spot. Remember to mix it up and use both popular and ‘niche’ hashtags with smaller volume. As an example, if you used #nature you’re competing with 498 million other posts! But #natureinspired is only 684 thousand, which gives you a better chance of getting in the Top 9.
For IG Stories, try to mix it up and use a different hashtag every 2-3 frames – you’ll be able to check your Viewers and see which hashtag is working best for you!
Suggestion: Use around 10 mixed hashtags on feed posts and a different hashtag on every 2nd to 3rd Stories frame

Last, but definitely not least, is Pinterest. And here again, the network encourages that you use hashtags liberally; up to 20 each pin!
Suggestion: Use up to 20 hashtags on your pin
Where do I find the best nature hashtags?
Let’s get into the meat of it, because now you know how you should be using your nature hashtags but you need to find them! Let’s go platform by platform again…
Now we’ve told you how to use them, but what about how to find them? Again, let’s explore each platform in a bit more detail:
The best way to find good nature hashtags on Twitter is using the platform’s own search. Just search something like #nature and see what comes up! You could also check the Trending Topics of Twitter, in case there is one there you could use.

No need here – hashtags are really only useful for brands.
The easiest way to find hashtags is using Instagram itself – it has its own Search bar! Just key in your hashtag – in this case #nature and you’ll find lots of other great nature hashtags to use, like #naturehub (356k) or #naturetherapy (570k).

You could definitely also try out a third-party tool. The best free one is definitely All Hashtag, which is a nature hashtags generator. For paid options, the best of the best is Hashtags for Likes.
